NBA Teams Are Dumping Trump Hotels

The Milwaukee Bucks, Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks have decided that they will no longer stay at Donald Trump-branded hotels and have made arrangements to change the accommodations that they’d previously used in New York City and Chicago.

Several other teams are deciding whether they will pull out of their existing contracts with the Trump properties when they travel to play the Knicks, Nets and Bulls.

Since Trump’s election, prominent NBA coaches Stan Van Gundy, Steve Kerr and Gregg Popovich have publicly stated their disdain for his views on women and people of color.. Van Gundy said his frustration stemmed from the fact that Trump is “…openly and brazenly racist and misogynistic and ethnocentric.” Popovich said the election results made him sick to his stomach.

Expect many more teams to follow suit in search of hotels where they won’t have to deal with the specter of Trump while they’re on the road.
