Apparently, Cleveland believes in the theory that you never know what you've got ‘til it’s gone. Brown is still the same offensively inept coach who watches his assistants draw up offensive plays in the huddle while he shades outside the lines on the pages of his coloring book.

Brown, who coached the Cavs to the playoffs in all five seasons (2005 to 2010), has agreed to a five-year, $20 million deal, sources told ESPN.com's Brian Windhorst and ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard on Tuesday. The Cavs have a team option for the fifth year, which is partially guaranteed for Brown.
Brown is a magnificent defensive mind, which is great, except he’s going to be entrusted with one of the great young offensive talents in the league. Brown won’t make Kyrie Irving anymore effective, but he will solve the Cavaliers defensive deficiencies. The Cavaliers allowed the league’s highest field goal percentage and blocked the second-fewest shots in the league.
However, Brown’s hiring squashes any remaining dreams Cavaliers fans harbored of LeBron James returning to the Cavaliers in 2014. Kyrie better get used to going 1-on-5 30 feet from the basket.
