We’ve all become too comfortable hearing about yet another MC arrested for guns or drugs (like 2 Chainz) or yet another hip hop head shot (like Benzino). So reading something about a rapper doing right is a refreshing positive change to hip hop’s fast and furiously wild pace.
Take Meek Mill for example. The Philly MC put his money to good use in hopes of saving the life of Gillian Chrisphonte. Suffering from cancer, Gillian has been tirelessly raising funds to pay for medical treatments and bills. Her wildest dreams came true when Meek just happened to stumble upon her Gofundme.com website, and he just happened to donate enough to help Gillian reach her fundraising goal.
Who says MCs can’t do good in the hood? Who says the media can’t report on it?
