Michael Beasley and Greg Oden have gone through rough times in the past couple years since they have been drafted. Now they find themselves on the same team with NBA champions. According to a recent article on USA Today, LeBron James and the Heat believe that they can help them turn things around.
From USA Today :
"Both players were unbelievably talented coming out of college — obviously drafted one and two in their respective drafts," Heat forward LeBron James says. "Reasons that you sometimes can't explain have hindered what they're capable of doing. But I'm excited to have them here. … It's unfortunate what's happened to this point, but we can't change the past. We can only focus on the present and the future.
"As a leader, I'm excited to have them here and help them get back to the point where they feel they mean something — not only to this team but prove to themselves that they can play this game and play it at a high level."
If LeBron and Wade can help these players turn their careers around then it will be worth the risk. Both Beasley and Oden have never been on a true contender, so having future hall of famers on the squad will help them a lot. More importantly, it’s up to them to get better, especially Beasley, who is known for his off-court issues.
