Reports have surfaced that Brooklyn’s own, Lance “Born Ready” Stephenson, will be headed to China to play in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).
Stephenson will reportedly sign a one-year, $4 million deal with the Liaoning Flying Leopards per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

A fan favorite, Stephen was having a great season for the Pacers five years ago, but has struggled to duplicate that performance since. He has bounced around the League, playing with the Hornets, Clippers, Grizzlies, Pelicans, Timbewolves and Pacers for a second time. Last year he signed with the Lakers through a one-year, $4.4 million deal, a move with united him with his favorite meme friend, LeBron James.
But last season wasn’t a return to glory by any means, unless you count his meme popularity through his air guitar celebrations.
His decision to play in China should bring him some success, especially if he follows in the footsteps of other NBA players such as J.R. Smith, Jimmer Fredette and fellow Brooklynite, Stephon Marbury.
Let’s hope Lance regains his NBA form and returns to the league next year with more success.
