Ladies of Hip-Hop Rock the Mic at DC’s Kennedy Center

Tonight won’t be a typical Saturday evening as Black Girls Rock and Bondvision Media sponsor Rock! Like A Girl. Part of today’s One Mic Hip-Hop Festival in Washington, DC, the event features female musical luminaries like Lauryn Hill, MC Lyte, Jean Grae, Miri Ben-Ari, and DJ Beverly Bond, followed by a panel discussion titled Hip-Hop Feminism-The Remix.

This meeting of the minds brings together a group of artists, scholars, activists and journalists in a conversation examining the intersection of gender and power in hip-hop music as well as the genre’s impact on the creativity of women in hip-hop. Taking place at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, check the list of those participating on the panel:
