Toronto Raptors star Kawhi Leonard said he plans to keep an open mind with potentially re-signing with the team he was traded to earlier in the summer.
On TSN Radio, San Antonio Express-News’ Jabari Young expressed that Leonard won’t be automatically jetting out of Toronto after the end of the next season.
“Based off of me talking to people within his circle, theyre going to go into this thing with an open mind and give this thing every last opportunity to work. And at the end of the day, if thats the case, then it would be great if he stays. Obviously, I think part of his mind, yes, lets keep real: I think he still feels like L.A. might be the destination. At the same time, he plans to go into this thing with an open mind, giving it every single shot in the world to make it work.”
This is good news for Raptors fans who are hoping Leonard can provide a spark for a team that continues to struggle in the playoffs. The San Antonio Spurs and the young guard had a huge falling out after there were disagreements on his recover time.
He will be hoping to start fresh with Toronto and if the season goes well, he could potentially be interested stay for the long haul.
