Kanye West has pushed back his Australian tour dates to focus on finishing his next album, made up of what he says will be an epic grand total of eight songs. Kanye, the super artistic mind that he is, explained in a recent stop at Miami’s Art Basel in December, “I think my next album is going to be eight songs,” he said at the time. ”It’s just reducing down the amount of information that you need.”
But with a new baby and upcoming wedding, he’s likely got enough on his plate to slow things down to a springtime stroll. A statement released by Live Nation Australia said, “Due to unexpected timing requirements to finish his highly anticipated new studio album, scheduled for a 2014 release, Kanye West regretfully announces the postponement of his upcoming tour dates in Australia.”
