Judge throws out perjury charge against Shayanna Jenkins, fiancee of Aaron Hernandez

While Aaron Hernandez will be spending lots of time in jail, his fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins, got to breathe a sigh of relief.

TMZ is reporting that the first judge in the Aaron Hernandez murder case has officially thrown out the perjury charge against Aaron’s fiancee Shayanna Jenkins after she provided testimony that led to the conviction of the ex-NFL star.

In a deal struck she struck before she took the stand, Jenkins agreed to talk and in exchange they would toss out a previous perjury charge. The charge stemmed from comments Jenkins made in 2013 to the grand jury in reference to a gun in her home, thought to be the one used to murder Odin Lloyd. If she had been convicted, she would have faced a 20 year sentence.

Instead, her testimony was key in convicting Hernandez, and now she’s free while he will be behind bars for a long time.
