Mental health issues are a serious topic of discussion in this country and not addressed by the government nearly as much as they should be, so I dont want to sound insensitive when discussing Johnny Manziels latest bizarre situation.

It just doesnt bode well for a guy who is trying to make his way back to the NFL and prove that he has every aspect of his life under control. Turns out Johnny Football was hospitalized in Texas on Monday night over a medication mishap, TMZ Sports first reported.
Manziel confirmed the hospitalization and said it resulted from a reaction to an increased dosage of Lithium, which he takes for his bipolar disorder.
It was a scary moment and Im especially grateful for the staff at the hospital and all that theyve done in the last 24 hours, Manziel said on Instagram.
The free-agent quarterback was in Humble, Texas, for JMBLYA, a music festival, as well as a golf tournament that his former Texas A&M teammate Mike Evans hosts.
The Rx drug mishap comes less than a week after disturbing details behind Johnny Manziels 2016 domestic violence arrest were released by the Dallas Police Department. The police report, which was obtained by TMZ, describes a hectic and frightening scene between the NFL bust and his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, on the night of Jan. 29, 2016.

Bipolar disorder is no joke, but it can’t be used as an excuse to wild out whenever one wants. A prescription medicine mishap to me means that Manziel either took too much of the medicine (was abusing it) or wasnt responsible in some way with his medicine and mishandled the dosage.
In any event, it’s no different than how Manziel has handled his life up until this point. He has periods of clarity and consistency and then something goes awry. This latest unfortunate turn of events is just another drama-filled head scratcher in the saga of Johnny Football.
