Jerry Jones praised Dallas QB Dak Prescott for his “players will stand” adjacent comment on NFL anthem protests.
Back in July, Prescott told ESPN.com’s Todd Archer that he would “never protest during the anthem, and (doesn’t) think that’s the time or the venue to do so.”
When asked about Prescott’s comments by TMZ Sports, Jones spoke highly of his player’s stance saying, “I’m so proud of him, just proud of him the way he leads the team … for not letting it mess with their practices.”
Considering the Cowboys owner set a team policy requiring Dallas players to stand on the field for the national anthem, regardless of any NFL rules, Jones’ comments come as no surprise. Prescott fell right in line.
While others like Jones and Ice Cube have gone to bat for the Dallas QB’s opinions, others see Dak in an unfortunate, sunken place of no return.
Can Prescott redeem himself?
