Jay-Z Declares NYC Is Under New Management

Shawn Carter took full advantage of the Brooklyn Nets' home win against the New York Knicks in overtime, declaring the city under new management.

It's obviously impossible to make that statement at this point in the season, before the playoffs or even before the Knicks get fully healthy. They're still without Iman Shumpert, recently lost Jason Kidd, and Amare Stoudemire is still injured.

Not that the latter matters, as much. As we all know, Carmelo Anthony is having a stellar season, leading the Knicks to their second 6-0 in franchise history, and currently reside in the Atlantic Division lead at 9-4 alongside the Nets.

In fact, the display has been so impressive without STAT, he and his $100 million knees may be out of town. The NBA rumor mill is swirling with chatter that Amare may be heading West to the Lakers for Pau Gasol. Can't feel good to possibly be traded for the man Amare called "still soft" just over a year ago — maybe about as good as broken fire extinguisher glass.

But I digress. All that we really know, for sure, according to Jay-Z, is that the Nets are better than the Knicks. For now. After one game. It's like declaring yourself an owner while owning just 1/15th of 1 percent of a team. It's technically true, and, for big Hov, we'll give it a pass.
