The New York Giants have re-signed two-time Pro-bowler Jason Pierre-Paul to a one-year deal.
Pierre-Paul has been absent from the team after suffering a freak firework accident that resulted in the loss of his right index finger.
There is no specific timetable for JPP’s return for the field, but head coach Tom Coughlin stated that he would like him back for Week 10’s matchup against the New England Patriots or Week 12 versus Washington.
JPP’s return couldn’t have come at a better time, as the Giants currently are the second worst team in the NFL with nine sacks. But how much should be expected of him? The G-Men can only hope that Pierre-Paul, who had 12.5 sacks last season, will be able to contribute right away, especially with the NFC East still up for grabs.
