America’s love for vampire movies is apparent with the Gary Shore directed Dracula Untold expected to successfully hit theaters this year. Originally slated for a summer time release, the film will now drop on October 17th in time for Halloween. Starring Luke Evans as Vlad III, Dracula Untold is based on Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula. This film version was written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
Often overlooked about the legend of Dracula is that the real Dracula, Vlad III, was seen as a hero to the people of Transylvania. Yet, the manner in which the character has been portrayed in the past is seen as disrespectful to many in that part of the world. With Dracula Untold, it appears the writer and director may have gotten it close to being historically accurate, while maintaining a level of fantasy regarding the life of the world's most famous vampire.
