Fournette Dominates in LSU’s Texas Bowl Win

LSU running back Leonard Fournette made it look easy Tuesday against one of the nation’s worst run defenses in the Texas Bowl.

Texas Tech came into the contest allowing a horrendous 5.92 yards per carry. Fournette averaged 6.5 yards per carry this season. Advantage Fournette, all day. The sophomore ran wild for 212 yards, five touchdowns, carrying the Tigers to a 54-27 blowout victory and earning MVP honors.

Fournette finished the season ranked first in the nation in yards per game (162.8) second in rush yards to Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry (1,953) and third in touchdowns (22). However, his 22 touchdowns this season set a new LSU record.
