In light of the recent settlement between the NFL and former NFL players which awarded former players $765 million in aid for head injuries suffered playing the game of football, three former Tennessee Vols are suing the NCAA for head injuries sustained while playing college football.
The three players, Chris Walker, Ben Martin and Dan Ahem, hired the same lawyer leading the charge in Ed O'Bannon's lawsuit against the NCAA, which attacks the NCAA's right to profit from players while the players are unable to do so.

The complaint alleges the NCAA failed to meet its obligation to former players and because of its neglect the players are "suffering the dramatic consequences." The lawsuit seeks an NCAA to fund a medical-monitoring program for former football players.
The lawsuit is similar to one filed in 2011 in Illinois. Attorneys in that case recently asked a judge to make it a class-action suit.
