This past March, Olympus Has Fallen was released. The action packed, terrorist thriller film, starring Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, and Aaron Eckhart, performed better than expected at the box office, grossing $98.9 million domestically and $62.1 million worldwide.
So naturally, Hollywood is taking full advantage of this unexpected dark horse by providing the world with the sequel: London Has Fallen. Following Butler, Freeman, and Eckhart's characters in London, the storyline features them attending the British prime minister’s funeral. While all three main actors will reprise their Olympus Has Fallen roles, and the original screenwriters (Katrin Benedikt and Creighton Rothenberger) also return; the film will no longer be directed by Antoine Fuqua. There’s no word on who will be stepping in to replace his huge shoes.
