BELLATOR MMA 143: WARREN VS. DAVIS

After an explosive event last weekend in San Jose, CA with Bellator Dynamite! which combined an MMA cage with a kickboxing ring, they return with yet another action packed card.

Former Bellator Bantamweight Champion Joe Warren (12-4) faces World Extreme Cagefighting veteran L.C. Davis (23-6) in a Bantamweight attraction that has title implications, while the Bellator 143 co-main event will pit Joey Beltran (16-11, 1 NC) against top middleweight Kendall Grove (21-15).

“Bellator 143: Warren vs. Davis,” airs live on Spike at 8 p.m. CT / 9 p.m. ET

PREMIER BOXING CHAMPIONS: WILDER VS. DUHAUPAS

Deontay Wilder reached the heavyweight pinnacle last January when he defeated former champion Bermane Stiverne in Las Vegas. Next he returned to his beloved home state of Alabama to stage his first title defense against challenger Eric Molina.

Wilder (34-0, 33 KOs) knocked Molina down three times in the first five rounds, then finished him off in the ninth as the referee stopped the fight a little more than a minute into the round.

Not one to mess with success, the 29-year-old Wilder will return to Birmingham on September 26 for his second title defense, this time against Johann Duhaupas (32-2, 20 KOs) at Legacy Arena.

A former Olympic bronze medalist who didnt even take up boxing until he was 21, Wilder is Americas first heavyweight champion since 2007. Since turning pro in 2008, The Bronze Bomber has destroyed everyone who has crossed his path.

In fact, only Stiverne (who lost a one-sided unanimous decision) and Molina have made it past the fourth round against Wilder.

Such a reality would seem to spell doom for Duhaupas. Then again, the 34-year-old Frenchman has never been knocked out. Most recently, Duhaupas defeated Manuel Charr by majority decision in Russia in April, rebounding from a unanimous-decision loss to unbeaten Erkan Teper less than a month earlier in Germany.

The fight will be broadcast live on NBC as part of the Premier Boxing Champions series (8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT).
