Draymond Green Blasts Dolan’s Treatment of Charles Oakley as “Slave Master Mentality”

Quite a week at MSG, with the treatment of the much loved Charles Oakley by arena security and James Dolan. And it didn’t just stay isolated in New York City, as fans and players across the country have chimed in about the former NBA All Star’s treatment at a game last week in the Garden.

The Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green has joined the critics of Dolan, taking to the mic on his “Dray Day” podcast with Uninterrupted to share his feelings on the issue, and he came out swinging.

You doing it for me, its all good, Green said. You doing it against me…you speaking out against my organization, its not good anymore? Thats a slave mentality. A slave master mentality. Thats ridiculous. It was all fine and dandy when he was laying people out, taking fines and all this stuff for your organization. But now all of a sudden when he says something that he feels, its a problem.

Green went on to address Dolan’s mention of Oakley having a drinking problem, which shocked everyone and opened up the door to a potential lawsuit against the Knicks’ owner.

Thats not something that you say to the world. Thats not classy at all, Green said. Its not OK for you to go say to the world as a multibillion dollar organization. How can you even pin that on someone? Just throw that out there. Thats grimy. I think thats wrong.

While Dolan has lifted the ban, after an intervention from NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and Hornet’s owner Michael Jordan, this is far from over, especially for the fans and players who love and support Oakley.
