Despite QB Controversy, Alabama Ranks No. 1 AP Preseason Poll

Despite a quarterback controversy that has grabbed the headlines, Nick Sabans college football dynasty is well intact and respected in the eyes of the national pollsters.

The AP Preseason Poll has defending — national champion Alabama ranked No. 1 which is no surprise. Alabama secured another No. 1 recruiting class in 2018 and as long as the talent keeps coming Bama’s way, theres no reason why the program won’t remain at the top of the class in college football.

Alabama is No. 1 in the preseason AP college football poll, the 3rd straight year the Tide are the top-ranked team in the 1st poll of the year. It’s the 2nd time in the history of the preseason AP Poll (since 1950) that a team has been ranked No.

Especially if they continue to avoid the cloud of corruption that has swept through NCAA athletics in recent months. Saban is a Hall of Fame coach and the Crimson Tide has been the hot football school for over a decade. During Saban’s 11-year tenure, Alabama has a .864 winning percentage, 14 bowl game appearances with 10 victories, six SEC Western Division titles, five SEC championships, and five national championships. Since 2008, Saban’s squads have spent all or part of each season ranked number 1 in national polls. Theyve had the same type of unstoppable run Beyonce’s had in music.

When Alabama’s biggest concern is which sensational QB will lead them into the season —  the one who secured two straight National Championship games or the one that led you to a comeback win in the National Championship game — theres not much to complain about in Tuscaloosa.

You really cant go wrong with Jalen Hurts and the value of playing the Flyin Hawaiian  Tua Tagovailoa is evident. Saban and Alabama are winning across the board.

Three in a row! Alabama tops the preseason AP poll for the third consecutive season! Story: #RollTide #OutworkYesterday

Alabama and Clemson (since Dabo Swinney stepped on the scene) have been dueling it out for the past few seasons and Georgie snuck into the elite mix last year, nearly beating Alabama for what would have Georgias first national championship since Herschel Walker was killing the comp in 1980.
