DeMarcus Cousins Hasn’t Changed

DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings is one of the most talented players in the league. No lie, the dude might even be Top 20 talent wise. However, no man can be great unless he is at peace with himself and others. After last night, Cousins needs a get-away.

With his Sacramento Kings trailing the Dallas Mavericks by 25 points in the second quarter, Cousins built up the courage to throw a cheap shot at O.J Mayo. Below the belt. C’mon.

“Man, I was so pissed,” Mayo told the Dallas Morning News after his 19-point, seven-rebound performance in the rout. “It’s just, where does that come in the game, you know what I mean? He’s a talented player, has a chance to be an All-Star. But you do stuff like that, it takes you down a class.”

So obviously, the talent is there. As far as mental finesse, well, that’s another story.

That guy has some mental issues, man," Mayo said. "He's a talented player. He has an opportunity to be the face of that organization, but I don't think he wants it. …."

It may be more than just a class if Cousins doesn’t get his act together, but the guy really is struggling…with himself.

"I've been terrible," Cousins told Yahoo Sports. "We're losing. I don't feel like I made improvements from last year. I really don't have any confidence at all. I'm just trying to think my way through it, but right now, I'm not finding anything."

It isn’t too late for Cousins, I mean he’s only 22 years old. It’s been proven that young stars benefit from having a mentor, check out Andrew Bynum, well not now . . Maybe Cousins should extend the invitation out.

This may be the answer. Due to his talent, Cousins shouldn’t have a hard time finding someone to guide him, but it begins with attitude. Some fine tuning and my man will be great.
