In a shocking and very unexpected tweet, it appears that UFC superstar Conor McGregor, who was supposed to be one of the headliners in UFC 200, has decided to retire.

It’s confirmed that he’s out of UFC 200, with Dana White saying that he took McGregor off the card because the fighter refused to head to Vegas for pre-fight promotional programs. And reliable outlets are reporting that the news is true, but everyone is rushing to find out exactly what’s really behind this tweet.

Multiple sources are adamant at this time that McGregor’s tweet isn’t a joke, troll job or hoax of any kind. Reason(s) behind it is unclear.

So unless April Fool’s Day is on April 19th in Ireland, this looks to be either very real or one of those emotionally charged tweets that people regret sending later after they cool down. Shocking, but real (for now). More to come!
