Are There Really 5 NBA Teams Better Than LeBron’s Cavs This Year?

LeBron James can be sensitive, especially when hes not getting the props he feels he deserves as a player. So we know hes tight about his Cleveland Cavaliers – a team that has been to three straight NBA finals since LeBrons arrival – being ranked No. 6 in ESPNs NBA Preseason BPI Rankings.

Preseason BPI rankings are out

The World Champion Golden State Warriors and new addition Kevin “Dummy Account” Durant were voted to the top spot. There’s not a soul in the basketball community, including LeBron, who would argue against that. The Houston Rockets are a surprise No. 2 team, the Spurs are No. 3 and the Celtics and Thunder round out ESPN’s Top 5.

Not even Top 5? You know LeBron, a guy who has gone to the NBA finals with worse teams than he has now,  is not in agreement with that assessment of his squad.

As the wheeling and dealing of the offseason has certainly altered the landscape of the Eastern conference a bit with Kyrie Irving joining the Celtics, theres nothing to suggest that Cleveland will fall out of the Top 5 team in the league.

Initially, it may be a tough transition for Bron with Isaiah Thomas nursing an injury and not being available for the start of the season, but a healthy Derrick Rose is no slouch and everyone else is returning, plus they added Jae Crowder to the mix.

If Kyrie Irvings approach to leaving Cleveland and his the hell with LeBron attitude isn’t enough motivation for King James to have one of his finest seasons ever, then these latest rankings should put the fire in his back to make this team work and prove the detractors wrong.
