The most electrifying player in college football this past season, bar none, was Stanford’s all-purpose weapon Christian McCaffrey. Merely a sophomore, his record-breaking year was one that will never be forgotten by those who witnessed it.
No player in the country was more versatile, as Mcaffrey lit up the scoreboard as a runner, receiver and passer. He was also the Cardinals punt and kick returner. The incomparable Barry Sanders held the record for all-purpose yards in a season, 3,250, which he set during his Heisman Trophy winning season at Oklahoma State in 1988. McCaffrey, after putting up an insane 461 yards against USC in the Pac-12 title game, became the new Gold Standard with a mark of 3,496.
He closed out the season with 368 all-purpose yards in Stanford’s 45-16 rout of Iowa in the Rose Ball, a yardage total that was the fourth-most in any bowl game ever. He became the first player in the 102-year history of the Rose Bowl with at least 100 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving and punctuated his sophomore campaign as the school’s single-season rushing leader with 2,109 yards.
I simply call him John Shaft, because dude is quite simply a baaaaaad mother (shut yo’ mouth)!!!
Well, for people that follow recruiting, they’d heard that there were a number of younger brothers coming up behind him.
The next in line is Dylan, a junior at Valor Christian High School in Colorado, whom scouts have rated among the very best pro-style QB’s in the class of 2017.
Dylan is not the type of high school signal caller who will be moved to safety or wide receiver in college. Showing no fear in the pocket, he throws a beautiful and accurate deep ball and is more polished, right now, than many starting D-I quarterbacks.

And Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, a former Wolverine QB legend who has elevated the games of Andrew Luck at Stanford and Colin Kaepernick with the 49’ers, snagged Dylan as part of an excellent recruiting haul that includes Rashan Gary, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound defensive tackle out of Paramus Catholic High School in New Jersey who is the No. 1 overall prospect in the Class of 2016, .
McCaffrey, who stands 6-foot-4, accepted Michigan’s offer over UCLA, LSU and a host of others.
