BKB returns to Mandalay Bay for its second installment of knock out action in their signature fighting surface, the pit.
It also is the return of Brownsville, Brooklyn slugger, Curtis Stevens. After losing the IBF Middleweight Title eliminator to Hassan N’Dam, Stevens is in need of a win and a return straight to a title shot is a good strategy.
Developed by a team of industry veterans and licensed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, BKB features shorter and fewer rounds. BKB utilizes a unique format designed to deliver a higher intensity level, maximum action and amazing knockouts, all of which have been declining with conventional boxing. BKB Rounds last two minutes compared to boxings three-minute and MMAs five-minute rounds. Fighters, using eight- and 10-ounce boxing gloves (depending on weight class), go five rounds for non-championship bouts and seven rounds for championship bouts.
For the first time, a live PPV boxing event will feature BKBs live fight technology. Developed exclusively for BKB, the technology will measure in real time the pounds-per-inch velocity and force of every punch thrown in the match using a microchip in the wrist of the boxers glove that transmits the information to the TV screen as an easy-to-read, graphic display.
Fans will be able to see live who throws the hardest punch in every round, the type of punch, where it lands, how much hand mass has connected with the fighters body and other real-time stats. The technology is solely for the entertainment of fans and will not be used in the arena or by the judges to score rounds.
Stevens attempts to rebound in an unconventional manner but this changes the complexity of the game. Stevens and Rosado have no choice but to go toe to toe so action is insured.
Get ready Brooklyn. Another champ from the borough could be on his way….
