Meet the nine-year-old basketball prodigy from Brooklyn.
Many kids dream of growing up to be a star one day. Samaya Clark-Gabriel, on the other hand, is only nine years old and already living the dream.
In 2018, the young Brooklynite became known as a basketball prodigy when she dribbled on stage with the Harlem Globetrotters. She was the first kid to ever make an appearance with the legendary squad and she did so with incredible flare. Her specialty? The blindfolded split dribble.
Gabriel’s jaw-dropping handles have caught the attention of many news stations and social media users (22.9k followers on Insta), and now that she has a platform, she wants to speak out against bullying in schools.
The Shadow League’s Adele Jackson-Gibson got a chance to sit down with Samaya and talk about how she got so good in the first place and which NBA player she’d love to challenge one-on-one.
Watch her work.
