As part of his new venture into sports representation, Jay-Z is proving to everyone that he's not just limiting his horizons to the NBA, NFL and MLB triumvirate. In addition to signing established Yankee star Cano Robinson and recruiting Giants receiver Victor Cruz, both of whom are seeking new contracts, the 2013 WNBA Draft's No. 3 overall draft pick, Skylar Diggins inked a deal with Roc Nation on Thursday according to Life + Times.

Diggins may be joined by another unconventional sports star in 18-year-old defenseman Seth Jones, the potential No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NHL Draft. There's already a familiarity there. Jones' father, Popeye, played in the NBA for 14 seasons and is currently an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets. Jones is already represented by CAA, Roc Nation's partner, but Jay-Z is also interested in getting involved with Jones' individual marketing and branding according to the NY Post.
Jones would then benefit from both sides of the CAA and Roc Nation partnership. “When Seth comes to the NHL draft [in Newark, NJ] in June, his family, agents at CAA and Roc Nation are going to have a powwow to see if he’ll sign with them,” a source said. Jones has been a star player in the Western Hockey League.
If drafted, Jones would be one of the few African-American players in NHL history and a marketable figure by NHL standards. Jay has some smart people advising him.
