Late Tuesday night, Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Antonio Brown issued an apology for recording an unknowing Mike Tomlin after the team’s Sunday night playoff victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Tomlin publicly ridiculed Brown’s behavior yesterday for violating the sanctity of the locker room.
Brown specifically apologized for what he characterized as his ” emotions and genuine excitement”. He made it clear that he has since apologized to both coach Mike Tomlin and his teammates for creating an unwanted spectacle heading into the AFC championship game against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Brown, one of the NFL’s brightest young stars, is sure to face a fine from the Steelers as well as the league for violating the newly instilled social media policy.
Yesterday when asked how the Steelers would wrangle the situation, Mike Tomlin said, “We will punish him, we won’t punish us. And we’ll do so swiftly, and we’ll do so internally.”
