The Kansas City Chiefs may have lost Kareem Hunt for the season, but they might be gaining an All-Pro on the other side of the ball.
Five-time Pro Bowl safety Eric Berry is returning on Thursday night when the Kansas City Chiefs battle the Chargers in an AFC West Divisional rivalry game with huge stakes.

Berry has been out for 15-months, battling a heel condition since rupturing his Achilles against the New England Patriots in 2017.
The Chiefs released a hype video in anticipation of Berry’s return.
This is how we rock. 🔥

Berry is one of the game’s best safeties when he’s at full health and the Chiefs defense has been shredded through the air on many occasions this season. Achilles injuries are no joke and very few players come back from those at full strength. If Berry is truly ready to take the field, then the Chiefs just got a big-time upgrade on defense.
He’ll be tested early and often against Phillip Rivers and the NFL’s 6th-ranked Charges offense, which is capable of matching Kansas City’s league-leading unit point for point.

If the Chiefs and Pat Mahomes continue their winning ways, they will clinch Andy Reid’s third – straight division title. A Los Angeles win clinches the team’s first playoff berth under second-year coach Anthony Lynn, keeping Philip Rivers’ waning Super Bowl hopes stay alive.
