It's bad enough for Alex Rodriguez that a quad strain stalled his return to the Yankees lineup, but that seems to be the least of his worries at this point.
The focus on the Biogenesis scandal has shifted from Ryan Braun to A-Rod, and reports are surfacing that the 14-time All-Star could be looking at a lifetime ban from Major League Baseball, according to an MLB source cited by CBS Evening News’ Jim Axelrod.
ESPN.com is reporting that A-Rod's suspension could be similar to Braun's, though the league has a lot more on A-Rod, who admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs from 2001-'03 with the Rangers.
Rodriguez has yet to play in a game this season.
This is the type of action that a lot people think is necessary to "clean up the game" and make sure guys are doing things "the right way." But could you imagine if they just started picking off the steroids guys 15 years ago when the league was interesting and it was unequivocal?
