OKC fans must be in shock, as is probably the rest of the NBA.
Earlier today All-Star player Kevin Durant announced that he was signing with Golden State through an announcement on The Player’s Tribune.
Said Durant:
The primary mandate I had for myself in making this decision was to have it based on the potential for my growth as a player as that has always steered me in the right direction. But I am also at a point in my life where it is of equal importance to find an opportunity that encourages my evolution as a man: moving out of my comfort zone to a new city and community which offers the greatest potential for my contribution and personal growth. With this in mind, I have decided that I am going to join the Golden State Warriors.
Durant was being recruited by the Warriors, Spurs and OKC, and most assumed he would be staying with the team that drafted him (when they were known as the Seattle Supersonics) and that he took to the NBA Finals in 2012.
Now Durant is moving to the Bay Area and making the Warriors even more of a threat as they look to retake the crown they lost this season to LeBron and the Cavs.
