Raushee Warren vs. Carlos Payano
10 months ago, Raushee Warren took his first loss with the heavy consequence of failing to capture his first world title against reigning bantamweight champion Juan Carlos Payano.
Although Warren produced a 12th-round knockdown and pressured the champion for much of the fight, Payano retained the WBA World Super bantamweight and IBO World bantamweight titles in a controversial split decision.
Two judges gave Payano a 113-111 nudge with the other judge scoring it 115-109 for Warren. What hurt the challenger were the two points he was deducted in the ninth round for an intentional foul.
