Oscar Pistorius has been charged by South African police for the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
The shooting took place early Thursday morning, and the two were the only ones at the residence where the incident took place.
Initial reports stated that Pistorius mistook Steenkamp, a TV- star and model for an intruder. According to reports, she was shot four times in the head and arms at 3 am.
While the police gave no motive for the killing, they did allude to there being previous incidents at the home.
This is a tragic twist in what was the inspirational story of Pistorius. He was seen as a fighter who never gave up despite the odds stacked against him. A double amputee who was able to compete and thrive against the best the world has to offer in track was a great story. Now it’s all gone bad, and we’re all left to wonder where it went wrong.
