Former President Donald Trump has managed to keep himself relevant despite not winning a second-term in 2020.
The businessman turned politician has still held rallies and done interviews since leaving the Oval Office. Another thing he’s done religiously is play golf as often as he can. If you may recall, he golfed an awful lot during his four-year run as commander-in-chief.
He’s now hosting the LIV Golf Invitational Series event at his Trump National Golf Club Bedminster this weekend, which is located in New Jersey, about 35 minutes from Manhattan.
Trump is being called out by a bevy of folks, most notably 1988 NFL MVP Boomer Esiason, for agreeing to host the event in the shadows of where the Twin Towers once stood.
On Esiason’s syndicated radio show “Boomer & Gio” the former Cincinnati Bengals star took called the move insensitive to those who directly affected by the horrific events of 9/11.
“That’s the ultimate insult to the families that are sitting here going, What are we doing? We’re hosting a Saudi Arabian golf tournament with the Public Investment Fund, from the government of Saudi Arabia at Trump Bedminster, right in the shadows of where these two buildings once stood? That’s what we’re doing here? The former president’s hosting this garbage over there, and these guys are accepting this money.”

Esiason continued:
“It’s an insult to all the people that died on 9/11and now their families were affected. But it’s also an insult to all the people that have died since 9/11 because of all the toxic carcinogens that they ingested while they wee trying to clean this place up.”
Esiason is a born-and-bred New Yorker. While that tragic day hit home for all Americans, it had an even bigger and more adverse effect on the citizens of the Empire State.
Why Would Esiason Take Trump And LIV Golf To Task? Trump Doesn’t See Anything Wrong With It
What Esiason is speaking of is the attack on America that fateful day in 2001, was reportedly Saudi financed, planned and executed. The U.S. then went to war for 15 years, but never against the Saudis. Pretty sure it had something to do with oil, and the need for it from the Saudis.
Families of some of the 9/11 victims have spoken out against the tourney. Calling the players and Trump “tone-deaf,” for playing and agreeing to host the event.

Trump Sees Nothing Wrong With Event Being Held There:
In an interview, speaking of the event Trump had this to say:
“Well, nobody’s gotten to the bottom of 9/11, unfortunately, and they should have, as to the maniacs that did that horrible thing … I’ve known these people for a long time in Saudi Arabia, and they’ve been friends of mine for a long time … What they’re doing for golf is so great.”
