Steph Curry is just two more three-pointers from immortality, and he’s returning to the place where he jumped on the scene in 2013. The greatest shooter alive sits at 2,972 made triples as he heads into Tuesday’s game against the New York Knicks.
Steph, just two triples shy, will have the opportunity to break a career NBA record of Ray Allen at the “Mecca of Basketball,” aka “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” Madison Square Garden.
Curry is no stranger to big games at MSG as evidenced by his 54-point outburst with 11-made threes in 2013. It was the beginning of Steph Curry as the “Greatest Shooter To Ever Play The Game.”

TSL knew he’d eclipse Allen one day, even back then.
Breaking Record At Madison Square Garden Just Feels Right
Curry and the Warriors did their best to have him break the record at Chase Center in San Francisco, but that didn’t happen. Breaking the mark at MSG adds another level of historical significance. In fact, Curry’s 54 points in 2013 makes for the third highest-scoring game ever for a visitor to “The Garden.”
Only the late Kobe Bryant (62) and Michael Jordan (61) scored more.

Steph Curry Excited About Chase: But Kerr Admits He’ll Be Happy When It’s Over
The last three games Steph Curry has shot 34 percent from three (14-46) as teams have made a conscious effort to not allow him to break the record versus them.
Here’s what he had to say following his 5-15 shooting effort from three in Monday’s (102-100) win over the Pacers.
“I’m enjoying the moment and now you’re knocking on the doorstep, it’s pretty surreal. But just trying to let it happen. It’s one thing I’ve learned these last three games, is keep playing basketball, keep taking shots you think you’ll make and enjoy the experience of it because it’s a long time coming.”
Kerr believes the magnitude of the record is having a bit of a hangover effect on Curry and the team as a whole.
“I think he’s been trying a little hard the last few games. Just trying to make 3s and get to this record, it will be a relief for him I think, and for our team when he does break it. But I just think he’s been trying a little bit too hard. And a lot of them have been coming out of blitzes, off pick-and-roll — he just needs to make the simple pass, he knows that, but he’s kind of trying too hard to make a big play.”
Kerr also said jokingly that he was resting Steph tomorrow at MSG.
#SteveKerr: “I’m resting Steph tomorrow”
He was joking! 🤣 “Couldn’t resist” 😉,#StephCurry will play in #MadisonSquareGarden vs #Knicks and he's only two 3s away from passing #RayAllen's record baby! 🙃#DubNation pic.twitter.com/BCyizoB5Gp

Reggie Miller Will Be On The Call Of The Game: Will Ray Allen Be In Attendance?
For Tuesday’s festivities TNT has chosen Reggie Miller to provide color analyst work. Miller himself was once the all-time leader in made threes, until Ray Allen broke his record 10 years ago. Miller was on the call for that one as his record was broken.

One has to wonder if Allen will make his way to NYC for the festivities and show Curry the same love Miller showed him that historic night in 2011.
