Known as Mercedes-Benz Superdome for the past 10 years, the iconic stadium and entertainment venue will now hold a new name and logo.
Louisiana lawmakers agreed on Thursday to approve the name change of the Superdome to “Caesars Superdome” for the next 20 years.
The new name will be placed on the dome before the New Orleans Saints’ first preseason game.
The Saints and Caesars Entertainment told state lawmakers that the naming rights deal will produce $138 million for the Saints franchise over the next two decades, but specific details in the contract will remain undisclosed.

The revenue from the deal will go to the Saints organization, as a part of Louisiana’s contractual arrangement with the National Football League.
ASM Global – which has oversight of the state-owned property, will take lead with renovations. The Saints pledged to spend the additional revenue on stadium upgrades that are currently in the works.
They’re two other major professional sports venues affiliated with casinos. The National Hockey League’s Arizona Coyotes play their matches at Gila River Arena and the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut is home to the Women’s National Basketball Association’s Connecticut Sun. New Orleans is the first NFL team to have their stadium named after a casino.
This is wonderful news that will not only benefit New Orleans, but the entire state. I congratulate Mrs. Benson & her team. I know Caesars will be very pleased having their name on the building that will be hosting future Super Bowls, Final Fours, & Essence Festivals. #lagov https://t.co/zTHQ5DR1KD

For Caesars and the Saints, the naming rights deal could help make the Nevada-based company a gambling brand in Louisiana at a historic period in sports betting. State Lawmakers have already opened the door to sports betting during this year’s legislative session. The Saints will be the first National Football League team to play in a stadium named after a casino.
In addition to Saints home games, the Superdome hosts many events eachyear; concerts, several national championship football games, multiple NCAA Final Four tournaments and Super Bowls. New Orleans is set to host its eighth Super Bowl in 2025.
