The NBC network is currently in the running for ESPN’s Maria Taylor.
With the start of the Tokyo Games less than two weeks out – NBC is trying to add more standout talent to their lineup.
Taylor’s current deal with ESPN expires this month on July 20, leaving open the possibility that the NBA Finals host departs prior to the Finals conclusion (if the series between the Bucks and Suns goes to a game 7).
ESPN has offered Taylor a contract around $3 million per year, according to The New York Post’s Andrew Marchand.
In addition – Maria Taylor could become the new host of “Football Night in America” as Mike Tirico transitions into the play-by-play post long held by Al Michaels.
With her experience on ESPN’s popular “College GameDay,” Taylor could work on NBC’s broadcasts of Notre Dame football.
As an added lure, NBC could provide Taylor a global TV stage as an Olympic correspondent, according to front office sports.
