While both parties declined to comment, Roc Nation is planning a press conference for Wednesday in New York.

If confirmed this alliance would be huge for all those involved. Ties with Jay-Z’s firm would help give the NFL more credibility while gaining access to resources exclusively provided by an entertainment well known for being ahead of the game.

Meanwhile, Roc Nation would be partnering up the nation’s more popular and powerful sports league—worth $15 billion—which would only spell advancement as the company looks to further expand into the sports world.

Roc Nation’s sports department currently represents the 2018 No. 2 NFL Draft pick, Saquon Barkley. While other sports clients include: NBA superstar Kyrie Irving, MLB pitcher CC Sabathia, NFL star Dez Bryant, and boxing champs Miguel Cotto and Andre Ward.

The NFL brand has taken some hits in recent seasons, as the league faced issues both on and off the field, ranging from political protest to domestic violence. Not to mention TV ratings dropped both in 2016 and 2017 as many issues surfaced dropping 8% and 10% respectively. Most notably during the time former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, took a knee during the U.S. national anthem.

Rating have since bounced back as of 2018 as the league found itself in less controversy but there’s always room for improvement—something that Roc Nation might be able to help with.
