MMA’s #1 Bad Boy continues to live his best life after his post-UFC 229 choke-out. We wish we could say the same for Khabib.
This weekend, during America’s Sunday football ritual, a familiar face popped up at the Dallas Cowboys vs. Jacksonville Jaguars game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
“The Notorious” Conor McGregor made his appearance on the field with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones along with teammate Dillon Danis and McGregor manager/attorney Audie Attar in tow. What was learned from this was that McGregor definitely cannot throw the pigskin but knows how to bullrush into major relationships.
The jovial reception from the Cowboys players and brass was the highlight of the pregame hype, and McGregor lapped it up by tossing footballs on the field, jumping into pregame huddles with the players and even being mimicked by lead quarterback Dak Prescott, who did the McGregor signature arm wave after his first touchdown of the game.

The 100,000 seat arena is one of the crown jewels of the sports entertainment world, and although notable boxers like Manny Pacquiao and Canelo Alvarez have fought there, the UFC and the sport of mixed martial arts has not blessed the mammoth arena yet.
Still, it is appalling that McGregor, whose actions have been absolutely despicable, gets to play by his own rules all the time and live with the benefits that white privilege provides on the highest levels.
The former two-weight division UFC world champion first began landing himself in controversy at the Bellator 187 event in Dublin, Ireland to watch his friend Charlie Ward take on John Redmond.
Ward had just knocked out Redmond in the final seconds of the first round when McGregor jumped into the cage to celebrate with his friend, in a clear breach of rules. He then appeared to attack referee Marc Goddard, who officiated the event.
Then back in April, McGregor was charged with multiple counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief after an incident in the Barclays Center that left fighters and UFC personnel injured during a senseless bus attack.

The New York City Police Department formally charged McGregor and one of his SBG Ireland teammates, Cian Cowley, with one count of assault and one count of criminal mischief. Since, McGregor (21-3) had to plead guilty to one count of disorderly conduct and was forced to undergo five days of community service, 1to 3 days of an anger management evaluation, and is required to pay restitution for the damage he inflicted on a bus during UFC 223 fight week.
In addition, three orders of protections were also served against McGregor, including two by UFC fighters Ray Borg and Michael Chiesa. McGregor will not be permitted near them until July 2020.
During the build-up to UFC 229, McGregor hurled religious slurs toward Khabib Nurmagomedov, disrespected his native country of Dagestan, accused his father of being a snitch and much more. In addition, McGregor teammate and fellow UFC fighter Dillon Danis called Nurmagomedov a “filthy Muslim rat” immediately after McGregor tapped out in the fourth round, which sent Nurmagomedov over the cage and at the neck of Danis.
In the aftermath, although both McGregor and Nurmagomedov were suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, McGregor received his $3 million dollar payout while Nurmagomedov’s guaranteed $2 million purse is still being withheld.
Jerry Jones stoked the ire of the conscious football audience when he stated, prior to this season, that he would fire any players that kneeled during games. He has been outspoken and brash in his beliefs and has made no qualms about his branding of the ‘Boys as “America’s Team” and all that it implies. Texas is a hotbed for football, Jesus, and white wealth and Jones understands that image is what propels his brand.
Aligning with McGregor, who opened his McGregor Sports and Entertainment company during “The Money Fight” boxing match against Floyd Mayweather, could be a straight business play. But when other controversial billionaire conservatives like FOX News Corp’s Rupert Murdoch are also taking pictures with the fighter in the owner’s box, it is safe to say that McGregor is being co-signed as the poster boy of the privileged.
However, what that leaves is Khabib Nurmagomedov without pay, respect, and the same level of positive notoriety by the monied power structure that McGregor has so easily been accepted by.
