Portland Trail Blazers first round draft pick and Lehigh University standout C.J. McCollum has not played a single minute this season after breaking a bone in his foot back in October. He was drafted with the 10th pick overall as young point guard Damian Lillard’s back court mate of the future.
But he has gone largely un-missed as Wesley Matthews and veteran guard Mo Williams have each stepped in admirably in helping guide Portland to a 25-7 record.
The franchise might have an embarrassment of riches in store as McCollum has been cleared to play and is slated to make his professional debut with the Idaho Stampede this season. Despite the fact that C.J. put in work at the Las Vegas Summer League last year there is no guarantee he will see significant minutes when completely healthy. The Blazers are on a roll and if it ain't broke don't fix it.
