Yasiin Bey, known best under his rap alias Mos Def, is working on an art gallery in the South Bronx with the help of ad executive Free Richardson, according to ArtNet.com.

The gallery will serve as a space for all mediums of art…Free will run day-to-day operations alongside staff and I will bring in curatorial and special projects” Bey said.

Both Bey and Richardson cite Bronx’s importance in the early Hip-Hop movement as one of the main reasons why they decided on the borough being the best place for the gallery.
