Jacoby Jones had one of the biggest reputation turnarounds sports has ever seen with his MVP-worthy performance in the Super Bowl. Dude never lacked for personality; it was just his hands and his head that couldn't seem to get right when he played for the Houston Texans. All is well now. Jones is set to appear on Dancing With the Stars next month, when he'll attempt to join Emmett Smith, Hines Ward and Donald Driver as NFL players that come out on top of the competition.
From the gridiron to the dance floor…Super Bowl champion Jacoby Jones will join next edition of "Dancing With The Stars".

The 49ers are making it sound like they've already found a trade partner for Alex Smith. No one seems to know which team it is, or if the Niners are just yanking everyone's chain to stimulate the trade market. But the Kansas City Chiefs make sense as a potential destination for the quarterback, considering the QB situation in KC and the fact that Andy Reid (new coach there) is fond of Smith.
The 49ers have expressed to others that a deal for QB Alex Smith is effectively complete. Can't be finalized til league year begins 3/12

so it's not official, both clubs view it at as it's effectively done. I do not know the other team. KC and JAX are 2 teams that make sense

Manti Te'o ran the 40-yard dash in 4.81 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine. Needless to say that with everything that's gone on these past couple of months with Te'o, he probably needed to run faster. But we all know the perception of this kid runs deeper than how fast he can run in a straight line. Teams want to figure out who he is as a person, since a lot of his draft stock had to do with his intangibles. So the most fascinating prospect in this year's draft isn't very fast and might not go until Day 2.

Manti Te'o ran an unofficial 4.81 in the 40. That 305-pound OL from Ark-Pine Bluff ran a 4.71. Yeesh.

Former Utah defensive tackle Star Lotulelei withdrew from the combine due to a heart condition that requires more testing. But there seems to be some confusion on if Lotulelei actually has a heart condition, or if he was just dehydrated, or loss too much weight in a short period of time in preparting for the combine. Either way, Lotulelei was cleared to workout on his own:
Apparently there is a chance that Star Lotulelei is dealing with dehydration and not a heart issue. usat.ly/126bHZX

President Obama is reaching out to the nation's governors for help convincing Congress to finalize a deal that would avoid sequestration. The across-the-board budget cuts that are set to go in effect on March 1 would have an enormous impact on the economy. Some believe it could even bring about another recession:
