The Warriors seem to believe that they may be able to attract Dwight Howard to Golden State. But the only way possible may be via a sign-and-trade if they can’t dump the expiring contracts of Richard Jefferson, Andris Biedrins and Andrew Bogut.
The Jazz are reportedly interested in Bogut, after Al Jefferson inked a three-year, $41 million deal with the Charlotte Bobcats.
Initially the Lakers were adamant about not assisting Howard with a sign-and-trade, but as fears have grown that he may not re-sign, they’ve loosened up their stance. L.A. may be willing to take on Bogut and Harrison Barnes and/or Klay Thompson in exchange for Howard.
The Rockets have their own sign-and-trade pitches planned. One would pair D’Antoni with Jeremy Lin.
The Sacramento Kings traded Tyreke Evans to the New Orleans Pelicans as part of a three-team deal. As part of the deal, the Pelicans will ship Greivis Vasquez to the Kings as well as guard Terrel Harris, with center Robin Lopez to the Trailblazers.
The Kings felt like they were being used and pulled Andre Iguodala’s four-year $52 million offer.
While J.J. Redick made his way out of Milwaukee, O.J. Mayo is all in.
Meanwhile, Mayo’s old squad, the Dallas Mavericks have expressed interest in Monta Ellis. However, Ellis’ free agency is shrouded in mystery.
The Mavericks also appear to be in hot pursuit of Andrew Bynum.
Josh Smith is back in Atlanta ruminating over a future that may include the Pistons or Rockets, but not the Hawks.
