With Big Ten and national championship implications on the line, Urban Meyer seems to be against the wall when it comes to which one of his quarterbacks he wants to start for Saturday’s conference opener vs. Wisconsin on Saturday — Braxton Miller or Kenny Guiton. According to ESPN, Meyer has more options thanks to his depth chart.
From ESPN :
"I don't know. We're going to see how they practice this week," Meyer said during the Big Ten teleconference. "I want to see if everyone is 100 percent healthy, and from what I saw Sunday, they are.
"It is a blessing to have two quarterbacks that you're very confident in. I don't know how many times I've been like that in my career or how many schools have that luxury. It's a blessing to have that, and we have to manage it the right way."
Obviously this is not a quarterback controversy which some may think. Urban Meyer is a two-time national championship coach and he has gone through this situation before when he was at Florida (remember the Leach-Tebow thing?). My suggestion: Why not play them both? Starting them both against Wisconsin will help Braxton Miller get some time on the field, but he doesn't need all the snaps. Co-QBs is the way to go.
