WATCH: Trailer Drops For “The Predator” Film

In 1987, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers traveled to the jungles of a South American country on a rescue mission, only to end up facing off against a dreadlock wearing, seven-foot tall killing machine known as the Predator (played by Kevin Peter Hall, who passed away a year after reprising the role in the 1990 sequel starring Danny Glover). That movie, which celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, is a film ripe with big muscles, lots of blood and classic lines such as “Get to the choppa!” and “You’re one ugly mother f****r.”

Schwarzenegger’s film spawned a slew of Predator movies, eventually linking up with the “Aliens” franchise and detailing the history of each species and how they’re connected to each other and to mankind. Today, 31 years after Arnold emerged muddy and victorious over the original Predator, we learned that a new installment in the franchise would be hitting theaters this fall (September 14th). Starring actors such as Sterling K. Brown, Olivia Munn and Keegan-Michael Key, we see that a new Predator is on earth and he’s not happy.

Check out the trailer below and let’s hope that Sterling and Keegan can follow in the steps of Danny Glover and Sanaa Lathan and join the very short list of Black survivors in this series.
