Imagine: Your dream comes true, traveling the world, singing the music you grew up hearing and hoping to perform. But that dark life, those sordid friends, the underworld that you likely planned to walk away from caught up to you. And now the real-life fantasy turns into a nightmare.
This is the reality of Vybz Kartel. World famous dancehall artist sentenced to a life of hard labor in prison after being found guilty of murder in Jamaica. Kartel and three other men won't be eligible for parole for 35 years. The drama comes around the 2011 murder of Clive Williams, who was beaten to death after apparently being lured into a house to face the reaper’s music over missing guns. One juror was arrested on attempted bribery charges, accused of working to bribe the panel to free Kartel. If that had worked, perhaps Vybz would’ve gotten off like he did last year when accused of yet another murder.
