As mentioned earlier today, Cam Newton was involved in a car accident where both Newton and another driver were taken to the hospital for treatment. Medical tests revealed that Newton suffered two transverse process fractures in his back and no internal injuries.

This is the same injury suffered by Tony Romo earlier in the season, which he has played through. Newton is listed in fair condition and owner Jerry Richardson said that he is in "good shape". If Cam can't go this weekend, Panthers quarterback Derek Anderson will assume the reigns.
