UNLV guard Daquan Cook suspended for DUI

Running’ Rebels junior guard Daquan Cook was suspended for 13 games following an arrest for DUI.

“He made a serious mistake. He understands his responsibility when you put a UNLV uniform on, and he failed in that regard,” Rice said. “I’m very disappointed in Daquan. We are committed to giving him the support he needs to have the opportunity to move forward and learn from this”.

UNLV coach Dave Rice delivered a stern but respectable punishment to his young guard. Cook wasn’t expected to play much this season and it’s likely the coach used this situation to set precedence. Ideally, Cook learns from this serious error in judgement and understands that DUI is inexcusable.
