Some of the greatest football players in NFL history came out of the ranks of HBCU football. Names like Jerry Rice and Walter Payton were HBCU legends who dominated the NFL gridiron all the way to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. But HBCU football also produced some of the greatest coaches in the game, one of whom was FAMU’s legendary coach, Jake Gaither.
