The Blazers have been knocking at the Western Conference door for a few years, yet always fall short to the Golden State Warriors.
But the team has made a few key moves this off-season to take the next step, including trading with Miami for center Hassan Whiteside, signing Pau Gasol and locking up their All Star point guard, Damian Lillard, with a four-year, $196 million supermax contract extension.
Now they’ve locked up the remaining half of their backcourt, as ESPN is reporting that CJ McCollum and the Trail Blazers have agreed upon a three-year, $100 million contract extension.
McCollum became eligible for the extension last week – and joins All-NBA teammate Damian Lillard in summer deals that solidify the Blazers backcourt into the mid-2020’s. https://t.co/rLiUMYfIBN

The move gives him a five year, $157 million deal, and keeps the backcourt duo intact through the 2023-2024 season.
